C-RAC Announces Support for Additional Nominations for AIM Negotiated Rulemaking Committee

Washington, DC – Earlier this month, the Council of Recognized Accrediting Commissions (C-RAC) nominated Dr. Heather F. Perfetti, President of the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE) and Chair of C-RAC, to serve on the U.S. Department of Education’s Accreditation, Innovation, and Modernization (AIM) negotiated rulemaking committee representing institutional accreditors recognized by the Secretary of Education.
Today, C-RAC is pleased to announce their nomination of Dr. Leah Matthews, Executive Director of the Distance Education Accrediting Commission (DEAC), to serve as the alternate negotiator representing institutional accreditors recognized by the Secretary of Education.
In addition, C-RAC issued letters of support for the following nominations for representatives of nascent accrediting organizations not yet recognized and programmatic accrediting agencies:
Dr. Mark Becker, Chair of the Board of Directors for the Commission for Public Higher Education (CPHE), to serve as the primary negotiator representing nascent accreditation organizations not currently recognized by the Secretary of Education.
Dr. Laura Rasar King, Executive Director of the Council on Education for Public Health (CEPH), to serve as the primary negotiator representing programmatic accrediting agencies recognized by the Secretary of Education.
Dr. Craig Little, President and CEO of the Council on Chiropractic Education (CCE), to serve as the alternate negotiator representing programmatic accrediting agencies recognized by the Secretary of Education.
